Tobey Lashane Wallace, age 18 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested December 21 on a warrant accusing him of felony theft by receiving. The charges stem from household items taken from a residence December 10 at 2315 Billingsley Road. Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the items include a 42 inch television, a play station game console, controllers, games, and a gun with scope. The items have been recovered. Wallace posted bond Christmas Eve in the amount of $5,000 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility with a circuit court date.
In an unrelated matter, Nicole Lee Tate, age 22 of Melbourne was arrested December 20 following a traffic stop on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of an instrument of crime, and driving while intoxicated. Deputy Chris Marshall reported that he observed a vehicle driven by Tate swaying to the right and rubbing tires against the curb. Deputy Marshall said that He could smell the odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle and that Tate had blood shot and watery eyes. Tate failed all parts of a series of field sobriety test and blew .13 on a portable breath test and a follow up BAC test at the Izard County Detention Center resulted in a blood alcohol content of .13. A plastic bag containing a green leafy substance was also found in her possession along with a small smoking device. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Tate tested positive for marijuana. Tate later posted bond in the amount of $3,335, given a court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
Following a call to a Calico Rock discount store, Elissa Lea Taylor, age 33 of Mountain Home was charged December 19 with six counts of shoplifting. Taylor is accused of taking numerous items including under garments. Taylor posted bond the following day in the amount of $1,105 , given a court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
A late night call December 20 to a residence 358 Simpson Lane in Wideman resulted in the arrest of David Watkins, age 21 of Norfork on the charge of criminal trespass. Deputy Phil Story said Watkins was found in the home of his grandmother. Watkins posted bond the following day in the amount of $605, released from the Izard County Detention Facility, and given a court date.
Nathan Alan Miller, age 30 of Violet Hill was arrested December 19 on a Sharp County warrant. Miller was transferred to Sharp County authorities on the day of his arrest.
Four Izard County jail inmates who were awaiting bed space were transported to the Arkansas Department of Correction. Transported December 19 were Leonard Raymond Vandervegte, age 40 of Calico Rock; Gary Lee Owens, Jr., age 30 of Salem; and Jorge Pablo Gonzalez, age 41 of Salem. Transported on December 20 was Ben G. Fitzsimmons, age 19 of Poughkeepsie.
