Izard County deputies were dispatched shortly after midnight  January 1 to  a domestic altercation at 94 North Main Street in Melbourne.  Carrie A. Ivy, age 29 and Shawn Michael Lape, age 34 were charged with domestic battering third degree.  According to statements by Ivy, she and her live-in boyfriend got into an argument when she returned home from the liquor store, and that he  knocked  her down.  Ivy said she grabbed an ashtray and hit Lape in the head few times. Both had physical markings of an altercation.  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said both appeared to have been drinking.  They remain in the Izard County Detention Facility pending a bond hearing.

Judith C. Powell, age 67 of Mtn. View was arrested Friday night and charged with driving while intoxicated-second offense and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Deputy Rick Hill observed a vehicle parked in the roadway near Arkansas HIghway9 and Newburg Road. Deputy Hill said that he did not administer a field sobriety test because Powell’s inability to stand without assistance.  A  half bottle of vodka and a half  bottle of gin were found in the vehicle.  Powell posted bond Saturday in the amount of $2,805 and was released from the Izard County Detention  Facility.

Michael Joseph Kelly II, age 22  of Franklin faces additional charges  of obstructing governmental operations after being jailed earlier on DWI charges.  Kelly remains in the Izard County Detention Facility.

Kimberly Dawn Sanders, age 37 of Brockwell was arrested December 29 on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.  Sanders appeared in Izard County District Court, released and given a court date.

Travis Lee Reed, age 32 of Drasco was arrested in Franklin after he assaulted an officer.  Felony charges are pending.

Michael T. Seyler, age 25 of Fairmount, Georgia was arrested Sunday on the charge of violation of Arkansas hot check law.  Syler posted bond in the amount of $636 and was released.

Robyn Michelle Archey, age 53 of Salem was arrested  December 27 on violation of Arkansas hot check law warrant.  Archey posted bond the day of her arrest and was released.
