     Travis Lee Reed

Charges  of assaulting officers have been finalized against a man jailed December 31 after  Izard County deputies responded to the call of a fight in progress in Franklin.  Chief Investigator Charles Melton responded to 157 South Main while other deputies responded to a near by residence.  Melton approached a white male later identified as Travis Lee Reed and advised Reed that he was responding to a call of a fight and Reed replied that there had not been a fight but just a bunch of drunks.  Reed then approached Melton in a threatening manner and was advised to back off and Reed responded that no one tells him what to do.  Investigator Melton advised Reed that he was under arrest and as Melton attempted to place Reed in custody, Reed became aggressive and both he and Melton fell to ground.  Reed rolled on top of Melton and attempted to chock him. Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley and Deputy Kevin Helm who were at the nearby resident came to assist Melton but Reed continued his aggressiveness and kicked Deputy Helm  twice and hit in the face.  Reed was then tased a placed in custody.   Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Reed , age 32   of Drasco is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility on felony battery second degree charges, resisting arrest, terrorist threatening, disorderly conduct  and a parole/probation hold from the Department of Correction .

In an unrelated matter, John William Mosher, age 19 of Melbourne was arrested in Battle Creek, Michigan and transported to the Izard County Detention Facility where he was jailed Thursday on charges of failure to appear in Izard County Circuit Court. Mosher remains incarcerated without bond.

 Tonya Denise Tate, age38 of Deerfield Street in Melbourne was arrested Saturday on a violation of Arkansas hot check law warrant. Tate posted bond the day of her arrest in the amount of $345 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Shane Daniel Lambert, age 28 of Newark was arrested December 2 on the charge of possessing a controlled substance.  Lambert remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $1,105 bond.

Carl Vannatter, age 25 of Calico Rock was arrested Thursday on a probation/parole violation and is currently being held in the Izard County Detention Facility.

Tory Lynn Roberts, age 26 of Oxford was arrested December 4 on the charge of disorderly conduct.  Roberts  was released from the Izard County Detention Facility the day of his arrest and posting bond in the amount of $205.

Delvin Bookout, age 39 of Wiseman was arrested Friday on a Sharp County warrant who transported him to Sharp County the day of his arrest.
