A Violet Hill couple were recently arrested on theft of property and criminal trespass charges. The couple is accused of taken property from a shed type building last Sunday. Randell Eugene Wisham, age 53 of 3320 Springhill Road was arrested the day of the theft. Mildred Ethel Wisham, age 58 of the same address was arrested on a warrant Thursday. Randell Wisham, at the time of his arrest was out on bond awaiting court for a previous of charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a no bond hold while Mildred Wisham posted bond the day of her arrest, given a court date, and released. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said Randell Wisham is an absconder of the Arkansas Department of Correction and that the Izard County Sheriff’s Department is waiting on a absconder warrant from another county. An Oxford man identified as Matthew Simmons, age 32 was arrested Thursday night on the charge domestic battering third degree. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that deputies were dispatched to 79 Park Street in Oxford where Jessica Hatter advised them that Simmons became irate after he thought she had used profanity. She stated that he grabbed her by the hair and dragged her down the hallway and that Simmons hit her in the head and the face. Hatter had visible signs of physical injury to her right elbow, left hip and redness under her eyes. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Simmons remains in the Izard County Detention Facility pending an appearance before Izard County District Judge David E. Miller. Ricky R. Lake, age 33 of Brockwell and Brenton Needle, age 25 of Horseshoe Bend were arrested Friday afternoon on the charge of criminal trespass. Deputies responded to a private dwelling where Lake and Needle were apparently removing firewood that appeared to have been recently cut and were placing the items in the trunk of a vehicle that was parked behind the house. Lake posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $205 while Needle remain in the Izard County Detention Facility. Around 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning, deputies were dispatched to 101 State Highway 56 in Calico Rock in response to a demotic violence call. Upon arrival, Mary Catherine Tyrone stated that Richard Brown had struck her and had refused to leave the residence. However, upon deputies arrival, Brown had left the residence and Tyrone refused to press charges but only wanted Brown to stay away from the residence. A compute check revealed that Tyrone was wanted on a failure to pay fines warrant from Baxter County and appeared to be intoxicated. Tyrone was arrested on the Baxter warrant and taken to the Izard County Detention Facility where she was combative and as a result was additionally charged with disorderly conduct according to Sheriff Tate Lawrence.. Tyrone was transferred later Sunday morning to Mountain Home by Baxter County authorities. Timothy Michael Roark, age 24 of Salem was arrested February 20 on an Izard County failure to pay fines warrant. Roark remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $2,565 bond.
