A twenty-one year old man was charged Friday with rape, a class “y” felony. Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Christopher Clark of 3786 Slade Road is accused of sexual misconduct on at least three occasions with a six year old male. The specific charge, according to Sheriff Lawrence, is that Clark purposely and unlawfully engaged in sexual intercourse or deviate sexual activity with another person who is incapable of consent because of his age. Clark remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $50,000 bond set by District Judge David E. Miller. Carl Benjamin Vannater, age 25 of Melbourne was arrested March 19 on a warrant accusing him of furnishing prohibited articles in a jail, use of a communication device to commit the crime, and parole violation. The charges stem from an earlier incarceration date. The arrest was made after Vannater was released from the Arkansas Department of Correction. Felony bond for Vannater was set at $25,000. A Saturday morning one vehicle accident on Boswell Road resulted in the driver being charged with driving while intoxicated, terrorist threatening second degree, resisting arrest and fleeing. Caleb A. Coss, age 20 of Mountain Home ran from Deputy Kevin Helm and stated that he intended to kill the deputy. Sheriff Lawrence said that Coss, after being warned, was tased three times before complying with the directions given by Deputy Helm. Coss posted bond Sunday in the amount of $3,210 and was released with a court date from the Izard County Detention Facility. Donnie Ray Woodcock, age 31 of Calico Rock was arrested March 19 on the charge of disorderly conduct. Woodcock was released Thursday from the Izard County Detention Facility and given a court date after an initial appearance before District Judge David E. Miller. Arthur B. Tunnicliff, age 26 of Calico Rock was arrested March 20 on the charges of absconding and resisting arrest. Tunnilcif was released the following day and given a court date. Thomas Michael Hayes, age 25 of Oxford was arrested late Friday night on charges of driving while intoxicated-third offense, driving on a revoked license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and possession of a controlled substance. Hayes posted bond the following day in the amount of $7,780 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Karen Renae Walls, age 19 of Oxford was arrested Friday night on the charge of public intoxication. Walls later posted bond in the amount of $225 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Gayron J. Polston, age 60 of McCrory was arrested March 20 on a violation of Arkansas hot check law warrant. Polston posted bond the following day in the amount of $333 and was released. David Michael Fiss, age 22 of Salesville was arrested March 22 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Fiss remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of cash bond in the amount of $2,870. Ronnie Ray Hollowell, age 43 of Mt. Pleasant was committed March 19 to seven days in the Izard County Detention Facility as the result of failure to comply with provisions of drug court. Three Izard County inmates were transported to the Arkansas Department of Correction. Leon Blake Kelley, age 45 of Batesville was transported March 19; Roger Lee Johnson, age 42 of Batesville was transported March 19; and Penny Lee Price, age 33 of Mountain Grove was transported March 21.
