05/21/2012 EARLY MORNING CALLS LEAD TO ARREST |

A before daylight call Saturday morning to an apartment complex in Calico Rock regarding a male subject beating on apartment doors resulted in the arrest of Robert Simmons, age 61 of 219 Terrace Apartments, Calico Rock. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that while responding to the initial call, an additional call was made to the sheriff’s department stating that the same individual had broken into an apartment and had vandalized a nearby vehicle. Simmons remains in the Izard County Detention pending charges after being treated for injuries at a local hospital. Around 3:00 a.m. Friday morning, Deputy Kevin Helm was dispatched to White River Recreational Vehicle Park in Calico Rock in response to a female subject screaming in the parking lot. Upon arrival it was determined that furniture and clothing were laying on the ground and screaming sounds were coming for the apartment area. The female, identified as Caroline Howard was very irate and was screaming obscenities at the responding deputy. After several attempts to clam the woman, Sheriff Lawrence said that Howard was placed in hand restraints and arrested on disorderly conduct charges. Howard, age 33, who did not provide other personal information is in the Izard County Detention Facility awaiting further mental evaluations. Stacy Ann Moore, age 34 of Page Cemetery Road, Melbourne was arrested Wednesday morning after Deputy Mark Simino observed a vehicle parked alongside the roadway shoulder on State Highway 354 near Catbird Street in Horseshoe Bend. The vehicle was unoccupied but upon approach by Deputy Siimino, Moore was observed outside the vehicle and quickly stood up from a squatting position, got into the vehicle a proceeded to leave traveling off the roadway and onto the shoulder of the road. After initiating a traffic stop, Moore failed a field sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Moore was taken to the Izard County Detention Facility and was additionally charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test. Moore later posted bond in the amount of $605 and was released with a court date from the Izard County Detention Facility. Sunday morning following a call from a residence in Franklin involving a physical altercation between a father and his adult daughter resulted in the arrest of the father, Tommy Miles, age 52. The daughter had a laceration above her left eye and scratch marks on her neck. According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence the argument leading up to the altercation is reported to have started as the result of the daughter confounding Mile’s girlfriend , Stacey Ann Moore, over her throwing gravel with her vehicle on the daughter’s house in Oxford. Miles was charged with domestic battering third degree and will be required to appear before a judge for a bond determination and the issuance of a likely no contract order. Meanwhile, Miles remains in the Izard County Detention Facility. A Calico Rock woman, Gretchen Leigh Stamper, age 37 of 99 Townsend Road was arrested the afternoon of May 14 on charges of careless and prohibited driving and driving while intoxicated. Stamper was released the following day after posting a $2,960 bond and given a court date. A Friday afternoon call to a Melbourne residence in Melbourne that a physical altercation was in progress resulted in the arrest of a Batesville man. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that an investigation and formal charges against Jason Findley Brnich, age 42 of 530 Stacey Drive, Batesville who remains in the Izard County Detetnion Facility are pending. Sherman Gayle Horner, age 59 of Horseshoe Bend was arrested Wednesday afternoon on charges of drinking in public and driving on a suspended license. Horner posted bond the following day in the in amount of $1,310, given a court date and released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Tanya Lynette Turner, age 42 of Melbourne was arrested Sunday night for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, driving on a suspended license, and failure to transfer title. Turner posted bond the day of her in the amount of $935, given a court date, and released from the Izard County Detention Facility.
