James Morris Brooks, age 42 of Melbourne was arrested the afternoon of September 11 on charges to include driving while intoxicated-drugs, driving on a revoked license ( revoked for DWI ), careless and prohibited driving, driving a vehicle without registration, operating a vehicle without insurance, and having no seat belt as well as an outstanding warrant from Baxter County. Brooks remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of bond in the amount of $2,725. Latina Marie Kurtley, age 39 of Melbourne was arrested September 13 on the charge of shoplifting. Kurtley is accused of taking items without paying for the items from Fred’s Discount Store in Melbourne. Kurtley was released the day of her arrest after posting bond in the amount of $1,105 and was given a court date of September 27. Holly Elizabeth Potter, age 40 of Melbourne was arrested Friday on a hot check warrant from Independence County. Potter posted a $300 bond the day of her arrest and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility. Thomas Ray Drake, age 36 of Sage was arrested September 12 on an Izard County failure to pay fines warrant. Drake posted bond the day of his arrest in the amount of $600 and was released with a court date from the Izard County Detention Facility. Joshua David Sanders, age 34 of Dolph was arrested September 14 on a failure to appear warrant. Sanders remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $5,000 cash bond. Lorie Ann Bennett, age 48 of Melbourne was arrested September 14 on an Independence County misdemeanor warrant. Bennett posted a cash bond the day of her arrest and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility. A Camp man, James Harvey Beard, age 24 was arrested September 14 on a probation/parole hold from the a drug court probation officer. Beard remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a “no-bond” status.
