Joshua Dewaine Scholl, age 24 was arrested on Minnesota warrants including that of failing to register as a sex offender after the Izard County Sheriff’s Office received a tip as to his whereabouts.  Scholl was arrested Saturday night at 307 Mockingbird Lane in Oxford.  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said Scholl is awaiting extradition to Minnesota and will be held in the Izard County Detention Facility until such time of extradition.

David Eugene Thomas, age 71 of Oxford was arrested the night of April 9 on the charge of criminal mischief.  Thomas is accused of shooting and destroying a lawn figurine of a next door neighbor. Sheriff Lawrence said there has apparently been ongoing friction between Thomas and his neighbor for the past few months.  Thomas appeared before District Judge David E. Miller, was released from the Izard County Detention Facility, and given a court date.

Dawn Christine Eheart, age 36 of Violet Hill was arrested Sunday on Missouri felony hot check warrant. Eheart remains in the Izard County Detention Facility awaiting extradition to Missouri.

Around 3:00 a.m. April 9, Deputy Ed Sollock observed a parked vehicle in the west bound lane of Cutoff Road in Izard County and when Deputy Sollock approached the driver there was a strong smell of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Brayden Conyers, age 22 of Melbourne.  After failing a series of field sobriety tests, during one of which he almost fell three times, Conyers was arrested for driving while intoxicated and taken to the Izard County Detention where he tested .15 on the BAC.  A reading of.08 is the legal limit in Arkansas.  A passenger in the vehicle, identified as forty-six year old Walter J. Ball, Jr. of the J Bar J community was arrested on charges of public intoxication and possession of a controlled substance.  Conyers and Ball posted bond later the day of their arrests in the amounts of $1,000 and $1,435 respectively and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Gabriel Luke Jestice, age 26 with multiple addresses was arrested Saturday on suspicion of vehicle theft out of Missouri. Jestice remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a criminal investigative hold.

Jerry Wayne Chinn, age 61 of Magness was arrested Saturday night on the charge of driving while intoxicated-third offense.  Chinn remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $5,305 bond.

Following a Thursday night call to Calico Rock Family Dollar store regarding an intoxicated patron, Deputy Phil Story arrested Amanda Marie Thomas on the charge of public intoxication and brought her to the Izard County Detention Facility.  According to Sheriff Lawrence, store employees reported that Thomas walked into a couple of displays and was yelling questions to store employees.  Thomas smelled heavily of intoxicants and was slurring her speech.   Thomas posted bond the following day in the amount of $205, given a court date, and released.

Kevin Massey, age 37 of Cherokee Village was jailed April 11 on a circuit court contempt charge and was ordered to pay a $3,500 child support payment.  Massey made that payment the day of his arrest and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility.

Christopher Allen Martin, age 28 of Ash Flat was arrest Friday on a Horseshoe Bend failure to appear warrant.  Martin remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $2,500 cash bond.

Stephen Mason Cagel, Jr., age 31 of Melbourne was arrested Sunday on a failure to pay fines warrant and a failure of appear warrant.  Cagel remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of a $1,355 bond.

Steven  Wayne Marshall, age 47 of Dolph was sentenced April 11 by the Izard County Drug Court  to nine days in the Izard County Detention Facility.  Marshall will remain incarcerated until he completes his sentence.
