Barton Monroe Teague, age 27 of Pineville was arrested on multiple charges after an automobile accident on state highway 223 the afternoon of August 7. An officer of the Arkansas Department of Correction reported an accident with no one around the scene. The Izard County Sheriff’s Department and the Arkansas State Police were dispatched and were unable to locate the driver later identified as Teague. In the course of the afternoon, a female with major injuries was located near the vicinity of the accident, was transported to the Calico Rock Medical Center and then transported to Little Rock by helicopter. Later that night, it was reported to the sheriff’s department that an intoxicated male had approached two residences in the area asking to use a phone. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said a full search was then conducted by the Izard County Sheriff’s Department, the Arkansas State Police, and the Arkansas Department of Correction dog team. Teague was located in a wooded area near the residences and placed under arrest after he failed to comply with orders and was tased. Teague has been charged with driving on a suspended license, driving while intoxicated, driving left of center, careless and prohibited driving, no proof of insurance, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, no seat belt, refusal to submit to a chemical test, failure to stop after an accident with injuries, fleeing on foot, criminal trespass, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and resisting arrest for a total of thirteen charges. Teague is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $20,000 bond.


Jeremy Lewis Gross, age 38 of Franklin was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with criminal trespass, harassment, and assault second degree.  The charging stem from an incident that occurred the previous day at the residence of Cecil Morehead. According to statements, Gross was asked to leave but did not, and an argument between the two followed. During the course of events, Gross is alleged to have moved toward Morehead in a threatening manner and attempted to strike Morehead. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said that Morehead then took Gross to the ground and took action causing Gross to not be aggressive. Gross remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a department of correction hold and a $1,000 bond.


Allan J. Dore, age 65 of Violet Hill was arrested August 6 on the charge of domestic battering third degree. The charge stems from an argument between Dore and his wife when she told him to leave the residence. At some point in the conflict, the wife threatened to kill Dore and proceeded to a dresser where she kept a handgun. She reported that Dore pushed her to the floor, grabbed her by the hair of her head, and began kicking her all about her body. During the altercation, Dore’s ex-wife entered the room to assist to him and the altercation subsided. Dore appeared before Judge David E. Miller, released, and given a court date.

William Cody Tillman, age 21 of Jefferson, Arkansas was arrested August 7 on a warrant charging him with theft by receiving.  The charges stem from an earlier incident of Tillman and two others taking items from the inside of cargo trailer in the Oxford area. Tillman posted bond August 9 in the amount of $5,000 and given a September 10 circuit court date.

Following an August 10 compliant by a Calico Rock man that another man was coming to his home to do him bodily injury, Izard County deputies arrested Joshua A. Gordon, age 23 of Batesville. While speaking with the compliant, Gordon and a female companion drove by the complaint’s residence. Deputy Acy Beebe pursued the vehicle and made contact with Gordon who had an outstanding Greers Ferry Police Department warrant. During the course of the contact, Gordon gave the deputy a false date of birth and resisted the deputy when being placed in hand cuffs. Gordon was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental operation, and having no driver’s license. Gordon is being held in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $2,565 bond and a Cleburne County bond in the amount of $1,060 cash.

Roy O. Henry, age 41 of Mt. Pleasant was arrested August 8 when he came into the Izard County District Judge’s Office to pay a traffic ticket and it was determined that he had two outstanding warrant. One of the warrants was for violating Arkansas hot check law and the other for failure to appear on another traffic violation. Henry posted a $929 cash bond and was released.

Derrick Bailey, age 21 of Evening Shade was arrested Sunday morning following a motor vehicle accident on state highway 9 south. Bailey was charged with driving while intoxicated-second offense, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of governmental operations, having no insurance, not seat belt, and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Bailey remains in the Izard County Detention Facility pending an appearance before District Judge David E. Miller and a $7,130 bond.
