Sheriff Tate Lawrence said Carl Vannatter, age 27 of the Calico Rock area who had been on the run for a couple of weeks was captured in Gassville yesterday (Monday) without incident. Lt. Charles Melton and Sgt. Gabe Sanders of the Izard County Sheriff’s Department had spent most of the past few days running down leds as to Vannatter’s whereabouts. On Monday while driving around a residential area of Gassville, Melton and Sanders spotted a vehicle at a residence suspected to be that of Vannatter. At the time of Vannatter’s arrest, suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located in his vehicle. Vannatter was arrested on a petition to revoke his probation/parole and is suspected of theft of property of a family member. Gassville Police Department has a hold on Vannatter who remains in the Izard County Detention Facility on a no- bond status. Sheriff Lawrence said that his department is still seeking Daniel Dwight of the Calico Rock area on a theft of property warrant. Anyone having information as to his location is asked to contact Lt.
