KENNETH JOHNSON SR. KENNETH JOHNSON JR.
Izard County deputies responded September 3 twice to an Oxford residence following reports of two altercations. At around 9:00 p.m. arrived at 1430 Dry Hollow Road where Kenneth Johnson, Jr. complained that his father, Kenneth Johnson, Sr. had assaulted him. The younger Johnson stated that his father was drunk and that his father often became angered when he consumed alcohol.
According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, Johnson, Sr. and wife Genene Snyder owned the residence where the altercation occurred and Johnson, Jr. and his girlfriend and two children reside at the residence as well. The argument apparently started because of needed vehicle repairs. The girlfriend stated that Johnson, Sr. had also shoved her but that she did not wish to pursue charges.
Kenneth Johnson, Sr. was arrested on the scene and charged with domestic battery third degree.
Later the same night at around 2:230 a.m., deputies were again dispatched to the same residence in response to a compliant by Genene Snyder that her son, Kenneth Johnson, Jr. had assaulted her. Mrs. Snyder, in a hysterical state and highly emotional state, said that the son had chocked her with both hands and had thrown her to the floor. At one point, according to Snyder, she ran into the bedroom and her son busted in the bedroom causing extensive damage. Kenneth Johnson, Jr. had left the residence when deputies arrived. Later, a warrant was issued for his arrest on domestic battery third degree charges and he turned himself into the sheriff’s office.
Both Johnsons have been released from the Izard County Detention Facility and given court dates of September 17.
