09/21/2015 NATIONAL DRUG TAKE - BACK SATURDAY |
||||
Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence is asking residents to participate in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. this Saturday, September 26. There are drop off receptacles at the sheriff’s substation in Horseshoe Bend just inside the foyer and at the sheriff’s office in Melbourne at the main entrance. Everyone having unneeded, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs is encouraged to participate. Properly disposal could prevent abuse of prescription drugs and even drug overdoses resulting in death. Environmentally, this disposal method is the most acceptable as compared to flushing the drugs down the toilet and polluting our waterways.
