EDWIN CARL BARTLETT ALBERT BARTLETT CHRISTY WHITAKER
Multiple charges have been filed following a vehicle accident in Van Buren County when four pounds of marijuana was found underneath the hood of the wrecked truck driving by Edwin Carl Bartlett of Calico Rock. According to Sheriff Tate Lawrence, the found marijuana along with previous information that drugs were being dealt out of house he occupied at 1539 Highway 5 north of Calico rock, a search warrant was executed September 15 and as a result, Edwin Carl Bartlett, age 62 along with his brother Albert Fredrick Bartlett II, age 56, and Christy May Whitaker are facing numerous drug related charges. In addition to the Van Buren chares against Edwin Bartlett, he is facing Izard County charges of possession of methamphetamine, a class “d” felony; possession of meth paraphernalia for the purpose of ingesting, a class “d” felony; possession of marijuana paraphernalia to analyze ,s tore or contain the substance, a class “d” felony; possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia to analyze, store or contain the substance, a class “b” felony; ;possession of marijuana paraphernalia to ingest, a class “a” misdemeanor; and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Albert Fredrick Bartlett II, age 56 and Christy May Whitaker, age 46 of the same address were charged with the same seven offenses as Edwin Bartlett in addition to the charge of endangering the welfare of a minor second degree which is a class “a” misdemeanor. When arrested Albert Bartlett tested positive for meth and marijuana while Whitaker tested positive for meth. Albert Bartlett and Whitaker have been released from the Izard County Detention on bond amounts of $25,000 and $10,000 respectively. Edwin Bartlett remains hospitalized.
