The Izard County Sheriff’s Coat Drive got a surprised boost on Monday when participants in the Izard County Drug Court arrived in court with many good jackets and coats. Sheriff Tate Lawrence said he is very appreciative of the efforts and that they got the drive off to a good start. Pictured are the participants, drug court presiding Judge John Dan Kemp, drug court staff members, and Sheriff Lawrence. According to Lawrence, the coat drive will continue to the end of the month and even beyond if needed and drop offs have been set up at the Horseshoe Bend Substation and the sheriff’s office in Melbourne. Anyone needing a coat is encouraged to visit the sheriff’s office.
