SHANE FARMER DOYLE CROSS
MATT CHURCHWELL KAREN LESTER Y.D. WHITHURST
The Izard County Sheriff’s Department recently recognized five employees for their years of service to the county. In the detention facility Karen Lester was presented her five year service award by Mindy Jones, facility administrator while Shane Farmer was presented his ten year service award. Lester is a detention officer and Shane Farmer is a dispatcher. Three deputies were recognized for their ten years of service. Deputy Matt Churchwell was presented his award by Chief Deputy Earnie Blackley. Churchwell is assigned to the Melbourne School District as school resource officer and was previously a patrol deputy. Deputy Y.D. Whitehurst, bailiff and transport officer for his ten years of service after retired as an officer of Arkansas Game and Fish. Deputy Doyle Cross completed ten years of service to the county including time with the road department and the sheriff’s department. Cross is a patrol deputy assigned to Horseshoe Bend.
