Two people have been arrested in connection with delivery of controlled substances. Earlier it was reported that Jessie J. Carroll of Calico Rock was arrested for selling meth to a confidential informant and that the sale was made near the Calico Rock School which carries an enhanced penalty. Another purchase of meth was made at a later date in Calico Rock has resulted in the arrest of yet another drug supplier. Teresa Ann Lawrence, age 49 of Tecumseh, Missouri was arrested August 1 and charged with a class “b” felony. Lawrence was placed in the Izard County DetentionFacility where she posted a $20,000 cash bond, released and given an August 10 court date. Charged but yet to be arrested is Cory Daniel Bennett, age 23 of Melbourne. Bennett has been charged with delivers he made on two different occasions that involved selling meth, hydrocodone, and diazepam. Two of the deliveries were made near an enhanced location, that being Ozarka College, and Melbourne City Park. In total Bennett faces four felonies, two class “c”, one class “d”, and an unclassified felony- two counts pertaining to the location of the deliveries. Sheriff Lawrence pointed out the delivery was not executed on the campus of Ozarka, simply close enough to provide an enhanced penalty.
