 A pair was arrested around midnight Saturday at the convenience store in Mt. Pleasant, following a call to the sheriff’s office for a possible overdose. Melody Hunter, age 24 of Mt. Pleasant was located in the front passenger seat and after several attempts to awaken her she finally responded. Marijuana and pills were located near where Hunter was sleeping. She was charged with public intoxication-drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Tyler Scott Howell, age 24 of Calico Rock was standing outside of the vehicle when Deputy Michael Foster arrived on the scene and when ran through dispatch it was determined that Howell had an arrest warrant for parole/probation violation out of Missouri. Howell too was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.  Sheriff Tate Lawrence said both are very familiar to law enforcement. Hunter remains in the Izard County Detention Facility in lieu of $3,840 cash bond while Howell is being held without bond. Both have a December 12 court date.

Nicholas Adam Staggs, age 30 of Calico Rock was arrested  the afternoon of December 20 on charges to include driving while intoxicated, driving left of center, refusal to submit to a chemical test, careless and prohibited driving, operating a while without license plates, having no insurance, and seat belt not used. Staggs appeared before District Judge David E. Miller on December 23 and was released from the Izard County Detention Facility with a December 15 court date. Deputy Geoffrey Watts was the arresting officer.

Christina Michelle Jackson, age 27 of Oxford was arrested Friday on charges to include driving while intoxicated-drugs, careless and prohibited driving, failure to stop after an accident, three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, having no insurance, and driving a vehicle without registration. Jackson posted bond the following day in the amount of $3,250.  Trooper Rodney Villiger was the arresting officer. Jackson has a scheduled court date of January 19.

Scott Lee Pennington, age 40 of Calico Rock was committed to the Izard County Dentition Facility on November 23 to serve a probation/parole violation. The violation was a failed drug test.

Daniel Allen Fulcher, age 30 of Oxford was arrested November 24 on a failure to pay fines warrant. Fulcher was released from the Izard County Detention Facility the following day after posting a $520 cash bond and given a December 15 court date. Trooper Blake Johnson was the arresting officer.

James Lee Deen, age 26 of Flippin was arrested Sunday on a criminal contempt of court warrant and remains in the Izard County Detention in lieu of $2,165 cash bond. Deen has a circuit court date of December 12. Deputy Geoffrey Watts was the arresting officer.
