The warehouse currently under construction for the Melbourne Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) is progressing quiet well according to MIDC President Matt Rush. Rush said the concrete for the massive 62,000 square foot facility has been poured, the red iron (structural steel) has been erected and the metal walls are currently being installed. The facility which will be leased to Mohawk Flooring in Melbourne for finished product warehousing and will allow Mohawk to expand their manufacturing area which will provide for 65 additional employees. Rush said MIDC is pleased to partner with Mohawk in providing this economy boost to the county. M & A Jones Construction Company of Batesville is the general contractor and according to M & A President Arch Jones the next major endeavor is the installation of the fire protection sprinkler system.
