The purpose of this notification is to advise that Joseph L. Gallapoo, a level three sex offender has moved to 1231 Rocking Chair Lane in Dolph. Forty seven year old Gallapoo was convicted in 2004 of criminal sexual misconduct first degree. The offense involved Gallapoo engaging in sexual contact with two minor females, ages 9 and 11.Gallapoo is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing some 150 pounds with black hair(balding) and blue eyes.

Sheriff Tate Lawrence said the Level 3 classification indicates these individuals usually have histories of repeat sexual offending and/or strong anti-social, violent or predatory personality characteristics. Sexualcompulsion are likely to be present, but may be kept under controlled when relapse prevention plans are followed and treatment is continued. The offense patterns of level 3 offenders reflect a relatively high probability of re-offense and/or risk of substantial injury to victims should re-offense occur.

Sheriff Lawrence said that sex offender notificaton has been hand delivered to residences with a half mile of Gallapoo’s new residence. This notification is not intended to increase fear, but rather it is the sheriff’s belief that an informed public is a safer public, he said.

Sex offenders have always lived in our communities, but it was not until the passage of the Sex and Child Offender Registration Act that law enforcement even knew where they were living. This information cannot be used to threaten, intimate, or harass registered sex offender.
