The Sheriff's Department has been receiving calls about scammers that have been calling people and identifying themselves as FBI agents providing a fake name and badge number. The scammers are telling people they are being investigated in a drug trafficking/money laundering investigation. The caller is stating they need access to your bank account information.  

Another scam that is going around our area is the callers claim to be FBI agents and will even provide a fake name and badge number before telling a victim that his or her social security number has been suspended. The scammer then tells victims that they must purchase gift cards and put money on that card to get their social security number reinstated. 

Never give out any personal information, including social security numbers, credit card numbers, or bank account information to anyone whom you do not know over the phone.
