A diary led to the arrest of a Flippin man who has been charged with a felony sex charge, according to Chief Deputy Charley Melton.

Melton said 19-year-old Ryan Fay Grunewald of Flippin was arrested May 11 and charged with sexual assault in the second degree.

Melton said the alleged incident took place near Calico Rock and involved a young girl who had detailed the event. Melton said Deputy Evan Jones was dispatched to the residence on May 3 to speak the victim. On May 6, Investigator Sean Tomlinson spoke with Gruenwald by phone. Gruenwald admitted he had inappropriately touched the girl, but claimed he was asleep when the incident occurred and that it was an accident.

Grunewald was arrested May 11. Bond was set at $20,000.

Others arrested during the past week include:

Timothy Copes, 40, of Oxford was arrested May 10 and charged with theft by receiving and possession of a firearm by a certain person. Bond was set at $10,000.

Matthew Sutterfield, 46, of Mountain Home was arrested May 11 and charged with failure to appear and absconding.

Jordan Tyler Griffin, 26 of Oxford was arrested May 12 and charged with assault in the third degree and disorderly conduct. A cash bond was set at $200.

Kayla Lynn Foster, 32, of Dolph was arrested May 13 for violation of the omnibus DWI Act.

Derrick Foster, 40, of Dolph was arrested May 14 and is on hold for another agency.

Valine Langston, 36, of Brockwell was arrested May 14 was jailed on a commitment order.

Justin Smith, 34, of Mount Pleasant was arrested May 16 and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery.
