A Calico Rock man was arrested May 18 and charged with multiple felony drug charges, according to Chief Deputy Charley Melton.
Melton said officers from the Izard County Sheriff's Department, Drug Task Force along with agents from Arkansas Community Corrections went to 37th Street in Calico Rock on May 18.
"We arrived to find 57-year-old Jessie Carroll in a metal shop building on the property.  During a search of Carroll, a Pall Mall cigarette pack was found to contain two clear plastic bags with a white crystalline substance that later field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Both baggies had a combined weight of two grams or more, but less than 10 grams."
"Officers then searched the shop and Carroll's bedroom in the mobile home. One set of digital scales with a white crystalline residue on the scale field tested positive for meth. Officers also located a plastic bag containing baggies with white crystalline reside. Two glass smoking devices contained burnt residue."
Carroll was transported to the Izard County Jail.
"He has been charged possession of a controlled substance Schedule II Methamphetamine with the purpose to deliver. Possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to analyze Methamphetamine. Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with the purpose to repack Methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to ingest Methamphetamine and maintaining a drug premises. All are felonies."
"Carroll is a habitual offender. He was found at a location that is less than 1,000 feet from the Calico Rock Elementary Campus," Melton said.
In addition to Carroll, Melton said the following people were booked into the Izard County Jail during the past week.
 
Brandon Merrill Bates, 37, of Horseshoe Bend was arrested May 18 and charged with third degree domestic battery, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and assault in the second degree. Bond was set at $1,340. He is currently being held for another agency.
 
Christopher Adam Christie, 35, of Brockwell was arrested May 18 and charged with driving on a suspended license, no proof of insurance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $2,980.
 
Ajofri Ghon Reeves, 39, of Turrell was arrested May 18 and charged with an instrument of crime. Bond was set at $1,120.
 
Chadwick Hancock, 44, of Jonesboro was arrested May 20 and charged with driving on a suspended license and defective signal lamps and lights. Bond was set at $510.
 
Aaron Blake Laxton, 31, of Mount Pleasant was arrested May 20 on violation of the hot check law. Bond was set at $1,607.32
 
Helen Leann McIntire, 38, of Mammoth Spring was arrested on a failure to appear charge.
 
Holden Turner, 23, of Melbourne was arrested May 21 and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $1,250.
 
Michael Eugene Williams, 58, of Calico Rock was arrested May 22 and charged with driving on a suspended license. Bond was set at $365.
 
Sean William Mendoza Pennington, 34, of Horseshoe Bend was arrested May 22 for criminal trespass and probation violation.
