Recently the Izard County Opioid Investigators and Peer Specialists held a panel discussion at the 2024 Police and Peers Overdose Response Conference presented by the Hot Springs Police Department. The goal of this conference was to raise awareness, promote evidence-based solutions, and foster collaboration in the fight against opioid misuse and overdose.
Sheriff Melton said "it is a true honor for the Opioid Investigators and Peer Specialists to be asked to hold a panel discussion at the conference. Being asked to be a part of the conference shows the dedication and hard work these individuals have in combating opioid abuse."
